About the mounting

Adaptation for installation of Electron ER-50 retracts. (Adaptation, information and pictures provided by David McQueeney)

Custom adaptor plates required for the Nose Gear: The original flex plates have to be used combined with a second set of new flex plates. These new flex plates are required for two reasons: One, the Electron gear is narrower than the original retracts, and two, to make the Electron gear sit further inside the model, to avoid the steering mechanism from sticking out of the fuselage.

Default Factory flex plates can be used to fit the Main Gear: Only new holes are required to fit the retracts. Spacers are required so the retract sits a bit higher, to avoid the gear hitting the top wing skin.

Main gear has to be mounted as close as possible to the wingtip to make the wheel fit on the wheel well cutout: This will cause an interference with the wing tank, as the gear will collide with them when extending. To avoid such this, it's possible to make a cutout of the wing tank, or to remove them entirely. A third approach will be to open the wheel well cutout, so the retract can sit further away from the wingtip avoiding contact with the wing tank.
