Description

The Grumman F9F/F-9 Cougar is a carrier-based fighter aircraft for the United States Navy and United States Marine Corps. Based on Grumman's earlier F9F Panther, the Cougar replaced the Panther's straight wing with a more modern swept wing. Thrust was also increased with the installation of a newer, more powerful engine. 

The Freewing F9F-8 Cougar is a next-gen 80mm EDF jet loaded with amenities and details normally reserved for 90mm class jets. This PNP version of the Cougar includes an ultra-scale CNC landing gear, quick disconnect wings, thrust-reversing ESC, newly designed 12-Blade EDF, scale LED light package, and a new powerful inrunner motor all coming together for a terrific new generation 80mm EDF jet brought to you by Freewing

Scale Elements- Missiles and Drop tanks

F9F-8 include 4pcs scale missiles and 2pcs scale drop tanks.  Mount them by magnetic suction/guide rail.

High scale metal shock absorber landing gear 

Alu alloy CNC processing, it includes front and rear shock absorbing landing gears with linear bearings, decorated with coloring and plastic parts. It improved the overall scale level of the aircraft.

Complete landing gear doors

The Freewing F9F-8 has a complete landing gear door that simulates its real jet operation.

QUICK-Install screwless assemble/disassemble

Freewing F9F-8 used the "QUICK-Install ”screwless structure components, it can quick assemble/disassemble the main wing without any screws or glue.

LED navigation light system

It pre-installed with 6 LED lights. You can also configure your preferred lighting method by changing the control box connection interface.

New 2023  80mm  high-performance EDF power system

The new  80mm EDF 12 blade plastic power system provides strong power for the F9F-8. Maximum apparent velocity value: 220KM/H (Subduction slope<40 degree)

Battery and battery compartment

Large battery compartment allows for easy placement of a 6S 5000mAh~6000mAh Li-po battery.

The lower surface of the main wing is marked with the mark of center of gravity; On the side of the nose, there is a reference line for the canard centering position. Get the right and important information anytime, anywhere.

Tail wing connection board

New tail wing connection board make the connection of the tail wing cables more convenient. The connection reliability of quadrilateral solid row needles is much higher than traditional male female direct connection.
