The Boeing / Bell V-22 Osprey (osprey) is an American hybrid transport aircraft. Marking the culmination of a project started 20 years earlier, serial production of the V-22 Osprey was launched at the end of 2005. A total of 458 units are planned to equip three components of the US Army: the US Marine Corps, the US Air Force and the US Navy. In June 2010, 108 were delivered to the US Marine Corps and 12 to the US Air Force. As of March 2014, approximately 150 are in service in the USMC, 25 in the USAF2
