Description

The E-flite Beechcraft D18/RC-45J 1.5m is the most convenient, capable, and easiest to fly scale model of one of general and military aviation's most recognizable aircraft! Its twin brushless power system, with specially tuned motors, delivers better-than-scale-like performance when using 3S 3200-5000mAh batteries. Or it can deliver even more speed and unlimited vertical performance with a 4S battery – no modifications or upgrades required. It's also equipped with an exclusive Spektrum Avian Dual 40-amp Smart Lite ESC, which can provide a variety of real-time power system telemetry data with both Smart and non-Smart batteries via compatible receivers (including the AR631+ installed in the BNF Basic version) and Spektrum AirWare-equipped transmitters. The BNF Basic version is also the only Twin Beech model equipped with enhanced AS3X+ and optional-use SAFE Select technologies, making it the easiest to fly D18/RC-45J yet. Factory-finished in a highly visible and fully painted white with orange Navy trim scheme, the lightweight yet durable, composite-reinforced EPO airframe features an abundance of scale detail - molded-in panel lines and hatches, antennas, exhaust stacks, a pilot figure, and more. Included functional flaps, twin rudders, and LED navigation lights elevate your experience to the next level. Factory-installed electric retracts with durable metal components make it possible to take off from a wide variety of surfaces, including paved runways, packed dirt, and even grass. The design of the “Twin Beech” D18 proved so adaptable that Beechcraft Aircraft Corporation eventually produced 32 versions - and more than 9,000 total aircraft - from 1937 to 1969. They served in a wide variety of roles, from passenger transport to mail carrier, and even as a military trainer for navigators and bombardiers. The original E-flite Beechcraft D18 1.5m quickly became known as the most convenient, well-equipped, and easiest-to-fly scale model of the unique aviation icon. Now it's available again with a military trim scheme based on a US Navy variant that first entered service as a navigation trainer, then underwent an overhaul and was reconfigured as a photo reconnaissance trainer in the 1950s. It's outfitted with numerous scale details, as well as functional features such as LED navigation lights, retractable landing gear, and flaps, which further enhance its realism. The 3S and 4S compatible power system features an exclusive Spektrum Avian Dual Smart Lite ESC. Skill Level 3 – Experience Required

Skill Level 3 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for more experienced RC pilots who already have the skills to assemble, set up, and fly similar class models. This PNP version requires more experience and skills to assemble and fly than the BNF Basic version because you will need to install a receiver that does not already include properly tuned AS3X+ and SAFE Select technologies. You should have the experience and skills necessary to assemble and successfully fly models like the E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Valiant 1.3m, Commander mPd 1.4m, Turbo Timber Evolution 1.5m, or other similar class models before attempting to fly the Beechcraft D18/RC-45J 1.5m PNP version.

The Plug-N-Play (PNP) version comes out of the box with a factory-installed power system and servos, ready to connect to a compatible receiver of your choice (sold separately), along with the transmitter and battery you provide (also sold separately). Simply install the receiver, finish any final assembly, and fly!

Smart Technology

The D18/RC-45J 1.5m is equipped with an exclusive Spektrum Avian Dual Smart Lite ESC that can provide a variety of real-time power system related telemetry data including overall battery voltage and more – with Smart and non-Smart batteries – via compatible receivers (including the AR631+ installed in the BNF Basic version) and Spektrum AirWare equipped transmitters (including the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, the DX9, NX6 to 20, iX12 to 20 and others) while you fly. Additionally, factory-programmed differential thrust provides improved ground handling for easier taxiing, takeoffs, and landings, as well as the ability to perform specialized aerobatic maneuvers.

Versatile Twin Power

The factory-installed twin brushless power system features a Spektrum Avian Dual 40-amp Smart Lite ESC plus specially-tuned motors with counter-rotating props that deliver an abundance of thrust with a 3S LiPo battery, or more speed and unlimited vertical performance with a 4S battery – without the need for any modifications or upgrades. The large battery compartment accommodates batteries ranging from 3200 to 5000mAh, including two 2200mAh batteries connected in parallel, to deliver a wide range of performance and flight times.

Abundant Scale Detail

The factory-assembled airframe is equipped with an abundance of scale detail, including molded-in panel lines and hatches, antennas, exhaust stacks, a pilot figure, and more. Additionally, it's factory-finished in a fully painted white with orange and black Navy RC-45J (SNB-5P) navigation and photo reconnaissance trainer trim scheme.
